Surfing’s biggest day culminated in Caroline Marks and Filipe Toledo claiming the 2023 World Titles after blistering performances in the Rip Curl WSL Final Title Matches. Dreamy Lower Trestles conditions provided a world-class showdown with near-perfect showings, fans coming down in the masses, and Marks and Toledo taking the 2023 finale by storm. Marks etched her name into surfing history with a maiden World Title, becoming just the fourth woman to become a WSL Champion in the last 16 years. Toledo’s victory makes him the first Brazilian to earn back-to-back World Titles, a feat last accomplished by John John Florence in 2016 and 2017, as he brought the Duke Kahanamoku World Title Trophy to his home in San Clemente and the country of Brazil.
