Event threats debuted in impressive fashion to kick off the final event of the 2023 Challenger Series at Brazil's fandom of Saquarema. Opening Day witnessed excellent showings from veteran competitors and the next generation taking control under the pressure of big lights. But, they now must face off with top-seeded competitors awaiting their big debuts. The battle for Championship Tour qualification comes down to this. With three surfers already locking up their place on the 2023 tour, eight men's and four women’s spots are still up for grabs when the best up-and-coming surfers head to Brazil for the Challenger Series finale.
