Power And Progression Take Over HB, Challenger Series Action Ensues - 805 Post Show Day 1

Style and poise took a backseat to the Challenger Series elite showing power and progression to get their opening campaigns underway at Huntington Beach. Grindy conditions pushed competitors to bring their best with Sierra Kerr, Owen Moss, Kirra Pinkerton, Zoe Benedetto, Jarvis Earle and Sara Wakita upping the ante early. But, no one was safe with higher-seeded competitors facing upsets throughout opening day from the likes of Louise Lepront and Caua Costa among many more to set up who will take on top seeds. Now, the leading CT qualification threats, CT elite and former world’s best prepare to storm Huntington Beach when competition resumes. The US Open of Surfing is one of Southern California’s biggest and best summer traditions. Former CT surfers and elite young talents battle at the Huntington Beach Pier in a crucial Challenger Series event. As the fourth stop of the Challenger Series, athletes will begin to secure their place on the 2025 Championship Tour at this event. In addition, the top longboarders will face off for the first time this season at the second event of the WSL Longboard Tour. And on the beach, there’s everything from live music to food and shopping to the X Games Vert Ramp. From dawn patrol to sunset sessions, there is something for everyone.
