Longboard World Title race kicks off Lexus US Open of Surfing 2025 I 805 Post Show

Southern California’s event of the summer is back, and the world’s best longboarders took over opening day of the Lexus US Open of Surfing Presented by Pacifico. Signature form from Rachael Tilly and Taylor Jensen showed they haven’t lost a step since claiming the 2024 event win and World Longboard Titles, putting on a show near home waters. New World Longboard Title contender Chase Lieder reminded us of his style and infectious energy with the day’s best showing. Plus, a big return to competitive surfing for Chloe Calmon pushed her into the Round of 16 as she rejoins the hunt for a World Longboard Title. But, there was also trouble in paradise with multiple World Longboard Champions being sent to the Elimination Round. Hiroka Yoshikawa sent three-time World Longboard Champ Honolua Blomfield to face elimination, along with wildcard Jack Van Wagoner taking down 2023 World Longboard Champ Kai Sallas. They will meet event wildcards and proven Longboard Tour threats. It’s only just starting and already heating up in Surf City USA.
