Elimination scares provided plenty of head-to-head bouts as Bells Beach delivered tricky swell that turned blustery and slow to call competition off midway through the men’s Elimination Round. But, the women made their mark with 2016 WSL Longboard Champion Rachael Tilly leading the charge alongside proven threats Alice Lemoigne and Sophia Culhane as well as newcomers Chloe Coleman and Natalie Wunderlich among more into the Round of 16. Men followed suit with 2023 World Title contenders Ben Skinner and Declan Wyton holding firm alongside Kevin Skvarna and John Michael Van Hohenstein before competition was called off for the day.
