Statements Made In Unruly Oceanside I SAMBAZON World Junior Championships Post Show Day 3

A victory-at-sea morning combined with heavy winds gave way to fireworks throughout Day 3 of action in Oceanside. Joel Vaughan threw caution to the wind and posted the event's best performance so far with a near-perfect 19.53 heat total. Brazilian duo Heitor Mueller and Ryan Kainalo put on dominant displays of their own alongside Southern California's own Levi Slawson. Plus, reigning World Junior Champion Jarvis Earle's crazy comeback pushed him back into the Quarterfinals as the women's Round of 16 await their duals. The SAMBAZON World Junior Championships hosted by Best Western showcase the most talented 20-and-under surfers in the sport. Winning the event gets these young stars onto the Challenger Series and one step away from the Championship Tour, and adds them to a proud history of past champions. From world champs Andy Irons and Gabriel Medina to tour standouts Sally Fitzgibbons and Jordy Smith, many past World Junior Champions have gone on to become some of the most influential figures in surfing. #wsl Subscribe to the WSL for more action: https://goo.gl/VllRuj Watch all the latest surfing action of the world's best surfers in the world's best waves.
