Updated Surfline Forecast Fiji Pro 2026: Swell Builds at Cloudbreak, Bigger Surf Ahead

Surfline’s Kevin Wallis breaks down the updated forecast for the Fiji Pro as a new swell fills into Cloudbreak and sets up multiple days of quality surf. After near-flat conditions the previous day, Cloudbreak came back to life for opening day with the new swell rapidly building through the morning. Surfline expects 6-to-10-foot faces with the biggest sets around double overhead, while increasing consistency and favorable trade winds should provide plenty of opportunities throughout the day. The swell is expected to ease slightly heading into the following day, but reinforcing energy should help maintain good surf before another pulse arrives Friday. Friday morning currently stands out for especially clean conditions, with very light winds expected before a possible afternoon sea breeze. The weekend trends smaller, but attention then turns toward the closing days of the waiting period. Confidence continues to increase around a significant swell developing for September 2–4, with the potential to produce the biggest surf of the entire Fiji Pro event window. CT Rankings Update: Moniz and Brooks make major moves in Tahiti, Pacific Leg hits Fiji Pro

Nothing short of legendary performances from Erin Brooks and Seth Moniz claimed iconic wins at the Outerknown Tahiti Pro Presented by I-SEA. Brooks notched her first win as full time CTer after defying odds in historic fashion, charging toward an epic comeback after overcoming Anat Lelior's 16-point heat total in the back half of the heat. The 2025 CT Rookie of the Year now sits just outside the Top 10. Then, Moniz's long-awaited moment ensued against brother in arms Griffin Colapinto. Moniz's ridiculous comeback of his own witnessed a career-best performance to send him from 31st to 19th on the rankings. While it wasn’t the picturesque perfection Tahiti can offer, the Outerknown Tahiti Pro Presented by I-SEA kicked off in pumping storm surf to test what the world’s best can deliver. It’s not Tahiti without the GOAT, and Kelly Slater returned in glorious fashion to highlight the day’s opening jaw-droppers with a 9.00 and 16.23 heat total. Now, a showdown for the ages awaits between the 11x World Champion and the ever-formidable Gabriel Medina in a highly anticipated rematch. Slater set the scale alongside Seth Moniz’s last-minute heroics against the event dangerman Eimeo Czermak to avoid early elimination. Brazilian Storm fires back in SoCal, women’s next gen sets Finals Day stage I 805 Post Show Day 5

It’s all down to Finals Day at the Lexus US Open of Surfing Presented by Pacifico marathon spectacle, and the heavyweight draws are locked in. The Brazilians fought back against Southern California’s surging contingent to storm toward the Quarterfinals, with Gabriel Klaussner, Deivid Silva, and 2025 event runner-up Mateus Herdy all providing stunners. But, the hopes of the US Open of Surfing title remaining in SoCal are alive and well courtesy of CT standouts Kanoa Igarashi, Jake Marshall, and Griffin Colapinto. For the women, a remarkable return to competition for Johanne Defay keeps bringing success after a dominant Quarterfinal showing and now prepares for 2023 World Junior Champion Sierra Kerr in their Finals Day bout.
