Paul Evans, Carlos Burle, and João Macedo break down a day of heavy-water charging from familiar faces and rising Big Wave contenders at Portugal's famed Nazaré. One of the sport's premier women, Justine Dupont, stole the show for women's performers to claim the top of the leaderboard with Roseyro claiming top honor for men's competitors. A close team battle with defending champs Lucas Chianca and Pedro Scooby nearly witnessed back-to-back history, but Roseyro's 21.83 was enough to push Rupp/Roseyro to the top. Big Wave is back at the sport’s most iconic location – Nazaré – for the Tudor Nazaré Big Wave Challenge. The sport of big wave surfing is not for the faint of heart–it’s a dedicated pursuit to which athletes from around the world have dedicated their lives. The colossal swells seen at Nazaré demand year-round conditioning, rigorous training, and mental fortitude. When the swell is called on, athletes will be ready to redefine the limits of big wave surfing while inspiring the world with their unmatched tenacity. This year’s format is a one-day, tow-in specialty teams event.
