CT Rankings Update: Brooks and Houshmand's wins shakeup World Title race ahead of Lexus Trestles Pro

A momentous run to the top for Erin Brooks and Cole Houshmand earned them Fiji Pro wins that helped push them up the leaderboard and rattle the ranks with the Lexus Trestles Pro up next. Houshmand jumped up a season salvaging 10 spots to No. 17, giving him a fighting chance heading into his home break of Lower Trestles. The San Clemente competitor made a major move, alongside fellow finalist, 3x World Champ, Gabriel Medina, who now sits at No. 4 after his Perfect 10 in the Final added more history to his iconic Cloudbreak career. Now, Medina, along with defending event victor and reigning World Champion, Yago Dora, multi-Trestles event winner and two-time World Champ, Filipe Toledo, lead the Brazilian Storm toward Southern California - expect major moves with Italo Ferreira joining the hunt. For Brooks, her Pacific Leg overhaul that included a Perfect 10 in Fiji, led to her first CT wins as a full-time CTer in pumping Cloudbreak and Teahupo'o. One of the women's frontrunners in progression and charging, Brooks, now prepares to take on the high-performance haven alongside defending event victor Bettylou Sakura Johnson, 2024 World Champ Caity Simmers, 2023 World Champ Caroline Marks, and 5x World Champion Carissa Moore, who have all tasted Trestles success. With the Surf Abu Dhabi Pro removed from the 2026 CT schedule, a surfer’s best 9 of 12 results would count towards the World Title and year-end rankings. This moves Leonardo Fioravanti back to the Yellow Leaders Jersey alongside Carissa Moore leaving Fiji.
