The swell increases at Ponta Preta for day two as the action intensified for rounds two and three in the men’s while the women’s competition also got underway.
Notable performances came from Portuguese rider Paulino Pereira (4th in 2017) who scored two perfect 10s and Airton Cozzolino finally landed a back roll off the lip back into the wave.
The contest continues this week, starting with round four for the men.
