Tahiti’s next generation of qualification hopefuls, Kauli Vaast and Tya Zebrowski, put on a Finals Day showcase to claim maiden Challenger Series victories at the EDP Ericeira Pro. The swell arrived just in time to provide major moments of brilliance on Finals Day heading to the culmination of a week in Portugal. History was made with Zebrowski becoming the youngest Challenger Series victor at age 14 and building a massive lead on the 2025 rankings. Plus, Vaast’s win inches the reigning Gold Medalist closer to his goal of CT qualification. With three stops remaining, the Challenger Series packs its bags to head back across the Atlantic Ocean to the mecca of passion and fandom at the Banco do Brasil Saquarema Pro Presented By Corona Cero, beginning October 11 through 19. The EDP Ericeira Pro is the 4th stop of the Challenger Series. Currently seated at No. 5 in the rankings, Portugal's Francisca Veselko will be hungry to win in front of her home crowd, but she'll have to surpass current No. 3 Sally Fitzgibbons who won the event in 2024. As the only pathway to pro surfing’s highest level of competition, the Championship Tour, and the stop in Portugal will be a defining moment for athletes looking to be a part of the next generation of professional surfing history.
