Coleman, Gall crowned Lexus USOS Longboard champs, Challenger women dig in I 805 Post Show Day 4

Stand up Southern California! Avalon Gall and Tommy Coleman provided the goods to take home the 2026 Lexus US Open of Surfing Presented by Pacifico Longboard titles ahead of the Challenger Series getting underway. It was a day of celebration for longboarding, with wildcard wonder Coleman defying all the odds against the world’s best, culminating in a win over Australia’s standout Declan Wyton, after fellow Californian, Gall, made history with back-to-back US Open of Surfing Longboard wins against Japan’s breakthrough Hiroka Yoshikawa. For Gall, this marks her return atop the LT rankings to start the 2026/2027 Longboard Title race, while Coleman’s historic run won’t count for points toward the rankings, and Wyton leaves Huntington Beach ranked No. 1. Now, the world’s best longboarders await to resume their Title race at the Bioglan Bells Beach Longboard Classic, beginning December 2 - 6 at the legendary venue of Bells Beach, Australia. Then, Challenger Series action officially got underway to reignite the Championship Tour qualification race in Huntington Beach, and the swell provided plenty of fireworks. 2023 World Junior Champion held firm with the Round of 48’s best performance, with Ella McCaffray advancing after posting an excellent 8.50. McCaffray’s fellow Southern Californians kept the success rolling with Eden Walla and Bailey Turner taking early heat wins in home waters to set up a stacked Round of 32.
